Home / Solar Panel and Energy Upgrades
Solar panels, battery storage, and EV charging stations are quickly becoming essential upgrades for both residential and commercial properties looking to reduce energy costs and improve efficiency. With strong rebate programs available through BC Hydro, Fortis BC, and CleanBC, more property owners are taking advantage of renewable energy solutions that generate long-term savings while supporting a cleaner energy future. From harnessing solar power and storing excess energy for later use to installing charging stations for electric vehicles and completing broader energy retrofits, these systems work together to create more sustainable and cost-effective buildings.
Solar Panel and BatteriesSun Engineering has helped customers realise thousands of dollars of savings on the energy bills through Solar Panel and Battery installations. BC Hydro provides rebates of $10,000 and $20,000 to Residential and Commercial customers respectively. The rebates go towards the purchase of solar panels and batteries. Depending on the utility bill, the size of your roof and location, customers could potentially realise large savings by harnessing the sun’s energy without doing a thing. The excess power generated will be sent back to the grid and BC Hydro credits this from your account. In times of poor sunlight hours, the credit can be used to offset your utility bills.
Charging StationsSun Engineering also installs Charging stations at commercial and muti-residential buildings to help customers charge their electric cars. BC Hydro gives out rebates of $350 and $2,000 per charging station for residential and commercial customers respectively. This program is intended to encourage customers save money on their gas bill should they decide to purchase an electric car.
Energy Upgrades
Sun Engineering can help residential and commercial customers realise energy savings from various rebates offered by BC Hydro, Fortis BC and CleanBC. The programs are as follows:
● Energy Advisor – assess buildings for energy savings opportunities through tests and measurements.● Insulation – insulate parts of the building to reduce energy loss.● Windows and Doors – install energy efficient windows and doors to reduce energy loss.● HVAC – upgrade heating and cooling systems by using heat pumps that does both functions.● General Retrofitting – retrofit the building to realise savings such as bathroom renovations, building envelope, roofing upgrade etc.
